To your question as to what I would think if my neighbor bought one....well either he is adopting 6 kids, just took a job where he has to transport a work crew, or has a 5 foot tall 95 pound wife that wants to be queen of the road. That last comment isn't sexist, it is just an observation of what anyone will see in the parking lots. These huge vehicles used as a family car are most often driven by very small women that could use a step ladder to get in. Living in a country that has pickup truck as the most purchased body type, tends to warp my perspective on "normal".

The best was when you could get a Suburban 2500. Its great when you need to take your and 3 others off road toys and all their gear to the trail for the weekend. 3 people gear and atvs in one vehicle with trailer

Its a product targeted at the US market and so it has the usual flaws of an American market focused product unfortunately...rides a lot like any of our other larger boats for the most part

Great car if you need people hauling in (American) comfort. Or if they're dead (they make a lot of hearse conversions). With it being part-time 4WD, you really notice the deterioration in steering / handling if you switch that on - don't try to parking garage in 4WD, you'll hit a lot of other things. Captain's chairs were a great add-on.

American here - here in Michigan, you'll find Suburbans as part of a multi vehicle household. Smaller vehicle for daily commuting and the Suburban for doing stuff - hauling the kids to sports practice with their equipment, or hauling the family to the cottage while towing a trailer or a boat. The older models could REALLY carry stuff. You could flip down the back seat and carry full 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back with the doors closed. Pleasant to drive and reliable. As a single guy, I don't find them appealing as it is too much vehicle. They have their place in our market and they are really common.

Like a nice bass boat, with toys like an ATV, Sport UTV (Polaris RZR), and a decent chunk of land to play with these toys. They don't have a huge house, they have a normal house, they don't have a fancy car, they have a regular car that has all the options.

I think people forget how small the uk's roads are. In America, these are seen as big, but they're not in the way of anyone else. You're not intruding on anyone. So we don't concern ourselves if someone has one. Another thing, these strike a happy mediuim if you need a winter vehivkle for roads that might not see a snowplow for a day or two, or towing snowmobiles , or toting full sheets of plywood or sheetrock or loading upbthe entire family to go camping and still have room for supplies and the dog. Do vehicles perform individual tasks, sure, but something like this can perform sonmany tasks that it has its own use. And lastly, keep in mind this might be the highest trim level, but they also come with more potent engines as well. To be dramatically "better" than this, you'd have to quadruple the price. Is that worth it? You spend your money how you see fit. I'll do likewise with mine. What you do with yours is your business and doesn't concern me. What i do with mine is nonone 3lses concern

Not far into the video, but what I can say about the 90s is that it was the last good decade for many brands before the quality went way down.

Everything you could ever want from a car came into being in the 1990's. Since then anything new has been unwanted.

I sometimes don't understand the pursuit of more speed and acceleration when cars like this were fast enough for public roads. I wish they'd make a lunch time special where performance won't put you in the hedges.

Including the ability to charge for free in this report is like writing a streaming service review and saying it is really good because it didn't cost you any money to charge, at least for the first 3 months. That 3 months is irrelevant. And the free charging is irrelevant. The government is being like a drug pusher. The first hit is free, then they charge you big bucks once you're hooked. Here in the US it actually cost more to drive 500 miles with an electric vehicle than it does with an ice vehicle.

Those old C/K suburbans were sold with a “Texas Cadillac” badge in the 80’s. They were ubiquitous among upper middle class moms. When I see them, I think about laying down flat in the back on long road trips…

I have owned 1 Tahoe and 3 Suburbans since 2000. I currently drive a Silverado. My wife and I love trucks.

I agree with cars AND motorcycles. I think the motorcycles from the 90's were really pushing the envelope, especially when in came to street bikes!

The only Americans who don't like Suburbans are tree huggers (climate enthusiasts), people who can't drive it because they normally drive compact cars, and broke people who can't afford one. So if you get negative comments, they are coming from one of those people.

In America if I see someone driving a Suburban they are likely more center right or conservative. They likely have at least two kids and those kids are actively involved in some sports or competitions that require frequent distant car travel.

E46 323Ci Convertible owner and I agree with the not worth it sentiment for the M3. We only drive the convertible for a few months in the summer and something always breaks. Luckily since this isn't an M car the repairs are reasonable and the car is a gem to drive. Slow; yes but playful and fun to cruise around with the top down and man does it look good (top down only). Owning it has made me NOT want to get an M3; I get all I need from the wheezy M52 engine.

It's worse than my 10 year old BMW i3 - it gets 120 miles combined, 60 on EV, 60 on gas - even with a 10 year old battery and 75k miles.... The i3 has similar doors, they are awful even for getting a dog in....
